Special Instructions to ApplicantsPlease submit resume and cover letter.Department SummaryStudent Affairs Information Technology (SAIT) provides comprehensive IT services to Student Affairs, Enrollment Management and the Chancellor's Office. The services provided by SAIT include network and system administration, desktop support, business analysis, operations support, and application/website design and development. Examples of systems supported by SAIT include MyUCLA, Message Center, the Campus Degree Audit System, and Point and Click EHR system.Position SummaryThe incumbent, reporting to the Desktop Manager of Student Affairs IT, acts as an expert on integrated systems and services, addressing complex issues and providing solutions for hardware, software, and network problems. They independently offer advanced consultation, training, and troubleshooting to technical staff and users, while also managing security configurations, Active Directory accounts, and endpoint device specifications. Responsibilities include deploying applications, maintaining system security, installing third-party software, and developing PowerShell scripts for automation. Additionally, they design, deploy, and maintain Windows 10 environments, document software licenses, and assist in implementing security standards and procedures in alignment with UCLA and Student Affairs policies.Salary & Compensation*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.   • Demonstrated comprehensive expertise in Microsoft Office applications, operating systems (Windows, OS X), and mobile platforms (including iOS and Android). (Required)
  • Knowledge of installing, troubleshooting, tracking, documenting, upgrading, and replacing computer hardware, local and network-based printers, projectors, audiovisual devices, wireless media streamers, and hardware/software applications. (Required)
  • Knowledge of Internet protocols including TCP/IP and related protocols in a switched Ethernet environment. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues, find appropriate solutions, and follow through to completion. (Required)
  • Ability to write grammatically correct, accurate and well-organized documentation and training materials. (Required)
  • Ability to stay current in knowledge and skills of hardware and software technology. (Required)
  • Proficient in independently managing tasks, prioritizing assignments to meet deadlines, and completing work as directed by supervisors. (Required)Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
