Design Manager, your key responsibility will be developing cohesive
and innovative designs that resonate with our target market, set
industry trends, and strengthen our brand's positioning. You will
collaborate with the design team, ensuring that every style and
concept aligns with our brand's aesthetic. Your role will involve
contributing to all aspects of product design, from initial concept
through to final production, while maintaining a commitment to
excellence in every detail.Key Responsibilities:
- Research trend, colour and style reports for the season
including understanding of competitive landscape.
- Research and design products within the department category
with an understanding of size inclusive fit solutions.
- Work with vendors/internal sourcing team to source key
fabrications for the season, building into the key items and trends
of the season.
- Establish core vs. fashion fabrications for the season building
into needed fabric costing.
- Ensure designs are in line with the merchandise assortment
guidelines for style count and retail pricing.
- Identify and sketch seasonal collection.
- Communicate all garment design details and construction through
a complete technical design package.
- Partner with internal cross functional teams on vendor
allocation.
- Communicates all relevant style information to the
vendor/internal teams through technical specifications and
BOMs.
- Comments on proto samples to move forward to sms sample and
booking stage.
- Responsible for the approval of lab dips and trims of assigned
styles to achieve on time manufacturing delivery and booking style
quality.
- Provides Design direction and partners with fit technician to
review all samples throughout the production process.
- Works cross functionally with team members in aligning on style
and construction goals.
- Partner with Merchandising and Pre-production teams to maintain
cost targets and oversee material selections and garment
construction.Behavior/Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related
field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in fashion design, with a focus on
ready-to-wear.
- Proficiency in design software and tools such as Adobe Creative
Suite.
- High level experience in sketching, design, garment
construction along with knowledge of silhouettes, fabrications,
construction techniques, fit and trim.
- Effective communication skills - verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high paced work
environment while remaining focused on the best product
execution.
- Passion for fashion, creativity, and trend forecasting.Please
note that this role requires to be onsite four days a week.Good
